On November 12 "The Treasures of Cresland” will be sought in the theme park named after GORKY

On November 12 from 1 PM to 5 PM in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure (Central Theme Park) named after A.M.Gorky an education campaign "Cresland Treasures" will be held as a part of a large-scale social campaign "Car Seat to Children". “Cresland Treasures” is an exciting quest for the whole family. Interactive games, contests, and sweepstakes are adapted to excite children of any age. Solving some problems however they will have to approach adults for assistance. All participants will be rewarded.

In addition to the Theme Park visitors "star" parents will participate in this campaign together with their children. The journalists covering this event are also invited to take along their kids.

The “Cresland Treasures” action is touring the country; starting with October 29, it was held in Kaluga, Tula and Ryazan. One city after another the caravan of trucks having Cresland logo on the sides is touring having on board a team of promoters and the “stars” of show – Bunny, Lion Cub and Robot. During the activity sessions the promo-trucks become training classes where visitors can master the knowledge of fitting automobile child seats to make sure a child is comfortable. The main stages of this educating game develop at the territory of a theme park or inside a shopping area.

On the first stage parents together with children have to choose an automobile seat that is fitting a kid of specific age and size.  At the second stage of the quest the family should determine are the safety belts buckled correctly on the pictures shown by promoters. The third round deals with offering arguments that undermine the typical arguments against buying an automobile seat. Active participation of children is welcome; adults are rather considered as support to be relied to find an answer to a delicate issue.

«We and the rest of participants in the «Cresland Treasure» quest  liked it, – says the Head of Department to Promote Traffic-Road Safety of the Mobile Regiment and Traffic Road Safety Directorate of the Traffic Police of the Russian Federation in Kaluga Region, lieutenant-colonel Olga Lobanova. – This program demonstrate in a vivid manner the requirement and validity of using this extremely important safety element inside a car. We invited whole school classes together with teachers and parents to take part in this educating quest”.

On November 1 a new wide scale social campaign “Car Seat to Children” was rolled out; it was initiated by the Russian State Traffic Police  under support of the Russian Car Insurer Union and the NGO “Risk-Free Driving”.

Children are one of the most vulnerable categories of passengers. In similar Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) children suffer more than adult passengers. The existing protection systems inside cars are not designed to bring down risks of injuries in young passengers. Therefore, it is obligatory to use child restraining means (CRM) to the young passengers the safest CRM being child seats. Starting with 2007, according to the traffic rules of the Russian Federation, the use of CRM is mandatory when children under 12 are riding inside a car.

According to the opinion poll, only 47% of parents of children under 12 are using car seats when they travel together.

In European countries the issue of how a child should ride in a car has been resolved long ago: the answer is - only in the seat. This is a part of automobile culture. In US a child will not be given to parents from maternity house if the car to drive the happy family home has no child seat. The road traffic accident statistics is the main cause of child fatalities in the world.

The total amount of children who died on the Russian roads in 2010 was 898; 21149 were injured. About 60% of fatal casualties and 40% of injured during MVA are children. In majority of cases the parents did not use child seats. During the 9 months of 2011 the fatalities among young passengers increased by 12.5% relative to the same period of the last year; the number of injured children grew by 3.7%.

The target audience of campaign "Car sat to Children” are  future parents and parents of school children. The goal of the campaign is to convince parents that without a child seat there should not be any ride of children on cars. The first ride from the maternity house home should also involve a child seat. A child seat is the most important purchase to be made before the birth of a child as it can protect the life and ensure risk free child riding inside the car.
