President of the “Road Safety Russia” NGO will address the Public Chamber

On 10 December 2012 Mrs. Natalia Agre, president of the “Road Safety Russia” public organization, will speak at the plenary session of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation and the round table on «Efficiency of social advertising against alcoholism and smoking». She will highlight the activities of non-profit organizations in tackling the world crisis of drunk driving and will elaborate on the impact of social campaigns. Mrs. Agre will cite her own experience in waging such social projects and the outcomes.

The discussion will take place at 10.30-11.10 timeframe. Other speakers at the meeting include Mrs. Guzella Nikolayshvili, director of the “Social Advertizing Laboratories” autonomous non-profit organization and assistant professor at the Higher School for Economics - National Research University; Mrs. Svetlana Shevchenko, psychologist and deputy director of the “Art of Training” company. They will deliver a sociological assessment of the situation attempting to explain why the quantity of drunk drivers grows in Russia.

The round table devoted to the disastrous death-rate among alcohol and nicotine addicts will be held at the IV international conference “Efficiency Upgrading of Social Advertising inRussia” which will be hosted at the Public Chamber of theRussian Federationon 10-11 December 2012 (1-7, Miusskaya sq.,Moscow). The event is regarded as a forum convening the best professionals not only fromRussiabut across the world to look at the burning problems of alcohol and nicotine addiction through the focus of social advertising.

The dispute will be centered on the current situation inRussiain regards to addiction – statistics, evolution, countermeasures, roots of prevalence, share of commercial advertising in aggravating the situation, capacity and feasibility of social advertising to reverse the trend.
