Road safety lectures to be delivered in Orenburg University

A new discipline was added to the curriculum of the transport department in Orenburg University; it has the title «Preventing motor-vehicle accidents». The first class was already held for freshmen trained on the major «Safe traffic provisions». The lecture on promoting the safe traffic practice was delivered by the officers of Orenburg State Traffic Inspectorate and representatives of the regional non-governmental organization.
The developers of the new discipline assume that in result of training the students should acquire new competences that will help preventing risky situations on the road and make them capable of progressing with education work among children and adult participants of the road traffic. «Preventing motor vehicle accident is a set of measures, which is aimed at preventing motor vehicle accidents and violations in the area of safe of road traffic, - said the Chief State Inspector of Traffic Safety in Orenburg area, police colonel Valery Kovalenko. – It is using these methods of propaganda and involvement of the wide public that we can expect to influence the safety status on the road in most realistic way».
