  • Russia Supports Global Road Safety Initiative

    More than a dash of colour will be added to the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Sochi by a display of 83 two-metre-high matryoshkas, all wearing seatbelts. The huge Russian dolls were created as part of the “Buckle Up!” project. This was an initiative of the General Department of Road Traffic Safety of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Association of Motor Insurers (RAMI), with information support provided by NGO Road Safety Russia.   • “Buckle Up!” Project Wins International Prince Michael of Kent Award

    The “Buckle Up!” national campaign to promote seat belt use has received a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award. The campaign was a joint project of the General Department of Road Traffic Safety of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Association of Motor Insurers (RAMI), and the NGO Road Safety Russia. The award was presented to Road Safety Russia by His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, Patron of the Commission for Global Road Safety, at the 17th Annual Award Ceremony in London on 10 December.   • "Palekh Box" Takes Silver at Red Apple

    The large-scale public awareness campaign “Buckle Up!” has won an award at the Red Apple Moscow International Advertising and Marketing Festival. The central element of the campaign, a television advert entitled “Palekh Box”, took silver in the “TV and cinema advertising” category for its visual effects and animation. The “Buckle Up!” campaign ran throughout Russia in spring and summer of this year.   • Matryoshka competition winners announced

    The organisers of the large-scale “Buckle Up!” public awareness campaign, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Association of Motor Insurers, and the NGO Road Safety Russia, have announced the winners of the campaign competitions: “Paint your own Matryoshka”, “In a Matryoshka” and “Matryoshka Contract”. In the “Paint your own Matryoshka” competition, the entry by Vyacheslav Bondarev from Zelenograd was the favourite, with 2322 votes.
